Hello,
list - means that the user will be able to see the files that are in this folder ("list contents")
get - the user can download files from this folder
update - the user can add new files to the folder (upload)
send notification - the user can send email notifications after he/she has uploaded a new file. This notification is sent to people who have the "get" permission to this folder
