Could you please explain the workings of the 'Create custom field' facility, can't work it out.

this is an option to create additional information fields for your users, for example a phone number, age etc anything that is relevant to your business
Where do these additional fieds show up - sorry for being so dumb on all of this
they appear in the new user register form, in the admin edit user form and in the user own edit settings form
